Limousine Services

The LimoTrak system is a powerful tool that can not only improve driver performance and customer service but can also enhance the security and safety of the passengers. The LimoTrak Vehicle Monitoring System has been successfully deployed in several limousine services.

LimoTrak offers reliable Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking from U.S. Defense Department and NATO satellites. The GPS signal data are collected by the AT2000 unit in the vehicle, processed against dynamic table data that can be loaded in each vehicle and then it’s transmitted to our central monitoring facility. This is a wireless transmission over the General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network maintained by the regional telecommunications company, e.g., AT&T/Cingular Wireless. The data is again processed and enhanced at our central facility and then forwarded to the company’s base station computer through the internet.

The heart of the system is more than just a tracking system. It is a communications platform capable of processing and transferring data to and from the mobile units. Data terminals can be installed providing two-way voiceless communication. Also, card and bar code readers can be installed to forward credit card information, as well as diver and/or passenger ID, to the main office or dispatch center.

LimoTrak is the full service system designed for the limousine industry. The following are the features afforded by this system.

Security and Safety: GPS provides the ability to constantly monitor the vehicle’s location. Preset boundaries defining the route a vehicle should take can be activated. Should the vehicle deviate from this route or leave its designated area the base station will be alerted. In addition, a hidden panic button covertly activated by the driver will activate a priority emergency condition enabling dispatch to take appropriate action. Our GPRS based system is “always on” and so the vehicle can always be tracked and monitored even when it has been turned off. An Unauthorized Driver Alert occurs if the vehicle moves without a proper driver ID. The system can also provide for the checking of a driver ID, passenger ID and process credit card information . Upon boarding the vehicle, a passenger swipes any credit card or respective employee ID through the vehicle’s credit card and bar code reader. This information is immediately encrypted for security purposes and transmitted to the base station computer.

Customer Service: By knowing a vehicle’s location, passengers can be accurately advised when they can expect to be picked up, especially when there have been delays at the local airports or unusually heavy traffic. Another feature the system affords is point to point directions. A passenger inquiring how to get from one location to another can be given a complimentary hardcopy printout with explicit instructions how to get to their destination.

Communication: Mobile data terminals, including state-of-the-art cellular phones, can be installed in each vehicle allowing the base station to communicate with the driver accurately and concisely. Unlike mobile radios and basic cellular telephones, which allow passengers to hear a driver’s conversation, two-way voiceless text messaging is silent and provides a hardcopy record of all messages to and from the vehicle. For driver convenience, custom preset messages can be loaded into the terminal/phone. The driver also has the ability to enter free format text messages as well. Another advantage of voiceless text messaging is conversations are kept to a minimum. Idle conversation is virtually eliminated and there is no question whether the driver heard the message or not. Receipt of the message is confirmed.

Mobile Credit Card Payment: One of the most useful features the LimoTrak system offers is the ability for a passenger to pay by credit card from the vehicle. Upon entering the vehicle, a passenger’s credit card is swiped through the vehicle’s credit card reader. This information is then encrypted for security purposes and transmitted for processing.

Accountability: The LimoTrak system is an excellent tool to monitor driver performance. Speed thresholds can be set that alerts the base station and the driver if a vehicle is operated above the preset speed limits. All activity is recorded and can be replayed or printed at any time. This is especially useful in resolving complaints against a driver or to verify times of incidents. Seat and Door Sensors can be installed to insure that drivers are only picking up those passengers that were specified by the company.

Versatile: The LimoTrak system is Microsoft Windows™ based and has been integrated with Microsoft MapPoint® which combines powerful mapping and analysis tools. The system can also be easily integrated with other software systems. It is network compatible and integrates with most network operating systems including state-of-the-art navigational systems.
